What is Fruit of the Month? Well, these are the seasonal fruits that are available only in specific months. Just like the temperature changes, our body demands a specific set of fruits and vegetables too. So why not have them on time and avail their benefits.

Just like other months, February has Chickoo, Muskmelon, Grapes, Guava, Strawberries, and Oranges in its bucket; who have their benefits associated with them.

Let’s have a look at it:

 

Chickoo

Did you know that eating chickoo a day keeps an eye doctor away? Yes, it contains Vitamin A which helps in keeping our eyes healthy. Apart from the richness in Vitamin A, B and, C the fruit also has anti-oxidants in it which helps in preventing cancer. Chickoo also helps in fixing constipation problems.

I remember my mom telling me that she used to love eating chickoo during her pregnancy. And I always used to question her as to why Chickoo until I got to know that it helps to deal with morning dizziness and sickness. It also helps in removing toxins from the body and thus great for skin.

 

Muskmelon

Like Chickoo, Muskmelon is also a fruit that is good for eyesight. With Vitamin C, it helps in boosting skin health by enhancing the glow from within.

The melon family is known for its water content. Muskmelon has 90 percent of water content in it which helps in keeping the body well hydrated. The orange fleshy fruit helps in relaxing the blood vessels; Thus, helping the blood pressure to be in control.

 

Grapes

What if, if I tell eating grapes reduces acne problem and skin aging problem? With antioxidants presenting the fruit, it helps in curing these problems.

100 gms of fruit contains 191 mg of potassium. This helps in controlling blood pressure levels. Studies have also established that by the intake of grapes, knee pain is reduced.  So for the continuous benefits, one should include 2-3 cups of grapes into their meal.

 

Guava

Guava is a source of power of nutrients, fiber, and essential vitamins. The fibrous pulp is rich in fiber content which plays a vital role in weight reduction.

Even the leaves of the fruit are magical. Tea made from the leaves is effective for lowering blood glucose levels in diabetics. Regular intake of Guava helps to reduce breast, mouth, skin, lung, stomach and colon cancers.

 

Strawberry

The bold red color of these berries is definitely hard to resist. When you add a box of strawberries into your basket, with joy it brings you a bucket of benefits as well. Being a rich source of antioxidants it helps in boosting the immune system of our body and helps in lower blood pressure levels.

Studies show that with the consumption of strawberries cardiovascular health is also improved. Seriously, strawberries are the most guilt-free snack which is both sweet and pulpy.

 

Orange

Orange is the fruit with a high content of pulp and fiber in it. It is a treat to eat an orange in the onset of summers. Research shows that the intake of this fibrous fruit helps in lowering the risks of cardiovascular diseases.

Fibrous fruits have a high amount of water into it. Therefore, eating an orange when your stomach is upset will prove to be beneficial for you. Orange is a powerhouse of Vitamin C which helps in healing wounds and preventing infections.
