Fantasy fiction is one of the most popular genres in the fiction world when it comes to books. Something that started centuries ago with stories like Aladin and other folk tales, the genre got a proper recognition in the modern world with stories like the lord of the rings and the chronicles of Narnia.
J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis being considered as the people who laid the foundation stones for this genre when it came to writing. Then people like J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin gave the world some series that the world won’t be forgetting for the next few centuries at least. Well, that’s what I like to think.
There is one more series that I would recommend everyone to read and that series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians. This 5 book series which has further two continuing storylines with the same characters is one of the best selling books of all time written by Rick Riordan. It is a Greek mythology spin-off. Other than that Riordan has written books on Norse and Egyptian mythology.
There is this thing with fantasy fiction, it does something to your brain. It makes you highly imaginative and it tells you that everything is possible if you have enough nerve to do it. It tells you to be brave at times when you do not want to be or maybe it tells you that it is okay to feel like that sometimes. It is more than just wands and witches. It is more than swords and dragons. It is about courage. It is about will power and more than that it is about those people who fought side by side when no one was ready to believe in them.
And this goes for all the readers out there who find their courage in these books. So cheers to all the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Game of thrones fans out there. Cheers to the readers and cheers to the genre of fantasy fiction.
