Paris Notre Dame Cathedral Saved From Destruction
After massive fire, Paris Notre Dame Cathedral is saved from destruction. The fire ripped on Monday through the entire structure which caused the roof and spire to collapse.
The fire was flashing for eight long hours which has now been extinguished. An official stated that the main two iconic rectangular towers have been saved from the blazing fire.
French President, Emmanuel Macron said in a statement, “The worst has been avoided, but the battle isn’t fully won yet.” He also laid forward his sympathies to the Catholics around the world, the people of Paris, and France. Macron also added, “We will rebuild the Cathedral together.” She said that France will raise money for its renovations through an international fund-raising campaign.
The moment the cathedral caught fire; all the nearby buildings were evacuated. The only causality reported was of one fireman who was seriously injured.
The Paris prosecutor’s office opened an investigation on the same after the fire damage began. According to the preliminary findings, the huge fire started accidentally.
Firemen made efforts to save the major artworks which were stored at the back of the cathedral. For the first time in history, sixteen religious statues were removed from the cathedral for cleaning on Thursday. And that is how they escaped from the fire.
According to the Ministry of the Interior for France, around four hundred firefighters were put to extinguish the fire.
