OLDEST BOOKSTORE IN THE WORLD
We hear all a lot of bookstores open and close but geeks this one is not the usual one. This book store is the oldest of all. The Bertrand Bookstore in Lisbon, Portugal is the oldest of all. That’s right! This book store has been open since 1732 which is now 287 years old. It was then opened by Peter Daure which has now around 50 stores throughout Portugal.
OLDEST CAFE IN THE WORLD
Well, this was a little difficult to claim but here we go! The oldest café in the world goes to Café Le Proscope which is located at the heart of the famous Quartier Latin, Paris. The café is said to be the oldest restaurant selling coffee which is still trading. It is said to be opened by Sicilian Francesco Procopio Dei Coltelli in 1686.
OLDEST TREE IN THE WORLD
Oldest Tree in the World, Isn’t that weird? Old Tjikko in Sweden is known to be the world’s oldest known living tree. The tree is said to be sprouted during the last Ice Age which is roughly around 9,550 years ago. It is said that Geologist Leif Kullman, discovered the tree and named it after his dead dog.
OLDEST RAILWAY STATION IN THE WORLD
The world’s oldest railway station is in the Liverpool Road Railway Station which is located in Manchester, United Kingdom. The station was built in 1830 and is known to be one of the few surviving stations of that time. During the 80s, the station served as a terminus for the first inter-city passenger railway station between Liverpool and Manchester which later in 1844 was extended from the city of Manchester to Leeds.
OLDEST CINEMA THEATRE IN THE WORLD
Who doesn’t like to watch movies, but if I say watch the upcoming movie in the oldest cinema theatre? Is that even possible, I mean does it even exist? Well yes, the oldest cinema theatre is in Washington Lowa State Theatre, Washington, Lowa, USA. The theatre opened on 14th May 1897 which is now 122 years old.
The first movie featured here was on a cinematographer that was made in Paris, France. Also, to tell you to know that the price for the first tickets were 15, 25, 35 US cents each.
OLDEST STRUCTURE IN THE WORLD
Megalithic Temples of Malta is the oldest structure in the world. The structures are said to be from 3,500 to 2,500 BCE. It is also said that these stone temples are older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. The structure was rediscovered and restored in the 19th century by European and native Maltese archaeologists.
