Remember how everyone was happy when the office trip was announced? But you were there looking uninterested and barely alive. No, not because you didn’t like the snowy vacation in summers, but because you’re feeling fatigue that you’ve lost any and all urge to look happy in office parties.

But before we get into it, let’s first get one thing straight. There’s a difference between being tired and fatigued. While you can be tired from doing lots of physical activity, you can get fatigued just from doing no physical activity at all! Fatigue describes you if you lack energy and feel tired all the time. And, there are just so many reasons you might be fatigued. Physical exertion, lack of sleep, being overweight or obese, grief, consuming too much caffeine, and lack of nutritious diet are just a few of them.

So if there’s an overall feeling of being unmotivated and tiredness you just can’t shake off, here are 5 easy things you can do.

  1. Drink Lots of Water

Let’s start from the basics. Water is your best friend if you want to fight fatigue. Dehydration is one of the main causes of all-time-tiredness. So, the more the better. Stay hydrated, stay active. Simple!

  2. Stretch Out

As basic as it sounds, stretching does help you to stay on your toes all day, every day. Stretch once you wake. It not only releases the built-up tensions in muscles but also ensures your blood circulation is on point – giving you the boost of energy for the rest of the day. And once again in the middle of the day, give yourself a good stretch. If you have a 9-to-5, don’t just keep hooked to your chair. Take breaks, gossip around, and know about the next trip you’d be able to cheer for finally!

  3. Have A Green Diet

Isn’t every health blog asking you to stay green and indulge more and more into veggies? Well, the greens are just that special. Keep your refrigerator stocked with green peas, broccoli, spinach, and every other green leafy speciality. These junk-food nemeses make a lot of difference in how your energy graph is going to be for the rest of the day. Moreover, they also work up your face complexion. All the more reason to eat!

  4. Don’t Cut on Shuteye

Let’s hit the base of fatigue, shall we? Lack of sleep is one of the main reasons you might be fatigued. Most millennials suffer from fatigue because of over-working and less sleeping. A good night’s rest can work wonders for your mood and mind the next day. If you find it difficult to sleep, sip on chamomile tea or soothe yourself to sleep watching something calming. While sleeping hours differ from one person to another, never ever let your relaxing hours to be less than 7 hours. No matter what the boss says!

  5. Be Keen on Proteins

While keeping your meals green is a great way to bust fatigue, an equally effective approach is to include protein in your diet, especially in breakfast. Proteins work a great deal in balancing out the carbs in your diet which have a notorious effect of making us lethargic. So be keen on proteins. These are a life saviour in their own right!

When you’re fatigued, it feels like you’re a passive entity in this whirlwind world. Been there, been that! But once you kick this crippling drowsiness, the world is all a grassy playground. So, bring these neat little techniques in your life and be that wild, energetic-self you should be!
