Apple announced a new video streaming service called Apple TV+ on 25th March 2019 during an event held at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park. And it’s surely the next big thing coming up!

Not only the Apple TV+, Apple also announced a redesigned TV application which will include a new Apple Channels section for iOS. Not only Mac, but the application will be available for smart TVs like Samsung, LG, Sony, and Vizo also. Viewers can see this from May, 2019.

The Apple Channels section in the Apple TV app will let viewers choose the third-party content as well. These partners can be Starz, HBO, and ShowTime. But unfortunately, Netflix is not one of them. These channels are ad-free, on-demand, and can easily be downloaded to view offline. Viewers can also share the content with other Apple users.

Apple TV application interface is designed in a way that puts content in front and center for accommodating the Apple Channels.  The content that we are watching will be there in the “Up Next” section while there is another section named “For You”. This section featured the personalized content which is done by using machine learning. The third-party content will be on the up-right inside section so that you don’t have to exit to enter another section.

The application also has a kid-friendly content in a separate section. It has a Big Bird which will take up a children’s show and will teach them about coding.

Well, this is probably the new strategy by Apple to push into the profitable world of services as iPhones sales are going down.

Let’s now wait for this magic to happen!
